Based out of Central Kentucky, Shane Seals writes and performs acoustic music that is emotionally engaging and musically accessible. Believing in the power of communication through musical dynamics, he writes songs with a personal message that have universal appeal. Having played in rock & roll bands since high school, Shane gained experience in performance, audience interaction & networking within the music industry. Concerned with the subtlety that is often lost in a band format, he began to focus on the more intimate nature of acoustic instruments. Subsequently he turned his attention toward songs that had been sitting on the shelf for years and also wrote many new ones - now with the intent to perform them. In response to the abundance of negatively based music, Shane focused his attention on writing lyrics with an optimistic view. "Many of my songs are about where we have been, where we are going and whether or not we know the difference." With a healthy dose of realism, the characters in his songs are searching, and as a result, finding. "Although many of my songs are about broken relationships, the real focus is on those defining moments in our lives that we are making memories and don't know it - The first kiss, the first time you leave home, the day you know it's over. The impact of these moments give us a ruler for all other experiences. How can I feel that way again? By re-visiting those moments, we realize how fragile and important every action is. These moments are who we are." Shane usually includes a few choice cover songs in his sets (although sometimes obscure) to show where HE has been. Along with musical variety and emotional singing, he invites the audience to go searching with him. In 2002 he put together a band called "Three Wheel Motion" as a vehicle to express his songs in a different way... louder (follow the link on the "bands" page). With a passion for recording, Shane continues to document his songs in his home studio, many of which are exclusively available here. This gives him the opportunity to "release" songs quickly after they're written and in different versions than the original.
